IceBreakers 2006

After much deliberation and buck-passing it has fallen to me to organise next year's IceBreakers event.

For those who don't know about Icebreakers, it is an annual event organised by one of the UKRS contributors as a way to kick off the diving year, get together for a pint or three, chat about the year's diving past and future, and just meet other UKRSers that perhaps we haven't met yet.

Tradition dictates that IceBreakers happens on the weekend following New Year and given that New Year falls on a weekend this year the dates will be the Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th January 2006.

Most people like to stay over for a couple of nights either in Stoney Stanton at one of the guesthouses there, or along the A5 at the Ibis Hotel as arranged by Maria.

Also quite traditionally, we go out to a pub (the name of which escapes me) not far from the Ibis which sells excellent food and equally good beer on the Saturday night.

So what to do?

Simple, email me on calumscott@yahoo.com and let me know that you are coming, your current cert level (which I don't give a stuff about, it just gives an interesting picture of the spread of experience there), what config you intend to dive (for the yearly bubblers Vs bubbless turnout race) , and if you need accommodation on the Friday or Saturday nights.
